Athol Fugard's Statements after an arrest under the immorality act is a compelling love story set in a library in a South Africa deeply divided by apartheid. It is a story about the struggle two lovers face in a social system that regards their relationship as being criminal. One of Athol Fugard's early and most powerful works which has not been seen in South Africa for many years. UCT Graduate Kim Kerfoot, the recent recipient of the Gipca Baxter Theatre Centre and the Theatre Arts Admin Collective Emerging Theatre Director's Bursary, directs the award winning Bo Petersen, new comer Malefane Mosuhli and veteran stage and film actor Jeroen Kranenburg in this gripping and provocative production. Set and Lighting designs are by the multi-talented Guy De Lancey.
