'Mooiloop' to replace 'Pasella'

'Mooiloop' to replace 'Pasella'

SABC 2 has announced that their variety and lifestyle show 'Pasella' will be replaced by 'Mooiloop', a new travel magazine show, in the same slot from 29 May 2013.

The channel had to respond to rumours that 'Pasella' would be permanently removed from their broadcasting schedule going forward.

They released a statement to assure viewers that 'Pasella' will not be disappearing from television screens, but will go on a short break, and will resume with a new season once 'Mooiloop' has ended its season run.

They said that like several other shows like '50/50', 'Gospel Time' and 'Gospel Classic' have worked on a "take a break" method for a while now and it worked well for the channel.

The news came as a shock, because in its 15 years on air, the Tswelopele Productions show has never been moved from an on-going production schedule.

According to the statement, the new travel programme is said to fit in with SABC2's new look and feel, offering "alternative programming" to its viewers.

Zandile Nkonyeni, SABC2's publicity head previously told Channel24: "'Pasella' has been on for a long time. With the new look of SABC2 we felt that we want to offer viewers something new and fresh and some kind of alternatives.

"We are bringing viewers a new travelogue show as part of giving viewers some exciting new programming."

She said the travelogue show "will replace 'Pasella' for now, but 'Pasella' is definitely not going away."

'Pasella' will continue to air on Wednesdays at 7.30pm until 22 May.
