The Smashing Pumpkins - Vieuphoria

Alternative, Rock
Vieuphoria

During the early ‘90s, "Today" and "Cherub Rock" and "Disarm" soundtracked the adolescent coming-of-age of hundreds of thousands. Pumpkins posters plastered bedroom walls from coast-to-coast, while friends sat around watching Vieuphoria over and over again.

Capturing this decade-defining band before the onset of their mega-stardom, Vieuphoria was originally released in 1994 as a VHS. Now, the exciting release of the Vieuphoria DVD will include the same live performances (listed below), plus "The Lost Tapes ’94," an additional 54 minutes of never-before-seen concert footage from the band’s seminal Siamese Dream era (including live performances of "Quiet," "Snail," "Siva," "I am One," "Geek USA," "Soma," "Hummer," and "Sliverfuck").

The Vieuphoria DVD’s new forgotten footage was found unlabeled and hidden underneath some old tires in a small cardboard box in a storage locker. "I watched the tapes, and couldn't believe what I was seeing... Everyone agreed that it was the most exciting and dramatic footage of the Pumpkins that we had ever seen from around the Vieuphoria time period of 88-94The tapes are from 1994, and prior to finding them we didn't even know these tapes existed... They are a little raw, but really do capture the spirit. and aggression of the band back in the good old days."

Also on the Vieuphoria DVD is an amusing, 10-minute in-studio interview called "The Unbearable Likeness of Manny" between the band members and a Virgin executive.
